    1. BROKEN CODES (8.19)
is mostly a new piece. Incorporating numbers, signals, interference and radio glitches inspired in part by old memories of listening to a portable radio under the bed covers deep into the night. I found the bad reception and mixing of channels produced weird sounds and harmonies. The middle section is a part derived from a demo I made for a planned project with Danny Carey from the band Tool. Sadly we never got around to doing it. RB - all instrumentation.

    2. SNOW BED (5.08)
was intended as an intermission piece for Porcupine Tree shows around 2006. The second section was used in some form on one of the tours. Updated and featuring Luca Calabrese - Trumpet,
    RB - Piano, Synthesiser, Sampler.

    3. THE EXPERIENCE OF SWIMMING (live 2017) (6.58)
was recorded at St Margarets of Anitioch Church, Liverpool and features a different intro and coda section with additional performances from Lisen Rylander Löve - Saxophone and Luca Calabrese - Trumpet. RB - Synthesisers, Samplers. Percussion and Bass Synth on backing track.

    4. SLINK (5.32)
is a new piece that was originally overfilled with samples, improvised analogue synths and loops. I then began muting and reducing everything until a vague arrangement shape appeared. It’s an oddball piece of music that was once even stranger. Featuring Fredrik Hermansson - Piano,
RB - Synthesisers, Samplers and Percussion Programming

    5. ORPHAN 5 (5.45)
is a new arrangement of a piece based around a four chord pattern that I have used in various guises since the early 80’s. I’ve tried to find a home for it over the years. Here I’ve attempted to recreate the vibe of the early cassette demo (circa 1980) that featured the distorted tape delays of the Roland Space Echo used with my Wurlitzer Electric Piano. Voice - Sophie Worthen, RB - all instrumentation.
